Dredd

DREDD Dredd is a 2012 science fiction action film. In Peach Trees, a 200-storey slum tower block, drug lord most commonly known as"Ma-Ma" sells a new drug produced by the workers she keeps in Peach Trees building. The drug being illegally selled is infused with Slo-Mo you see and understand this when three users get thrown down the building from the top floor. When Dredd and his new trainee get called to Peach Trees to find out what is going on They arrest a thug named Kay, whom Anderson's mind probe reveals to be the one who carried out the drug dealers' executions. Dredd decides to take him in for questioning. In response Ma-Ma's forces seize the tower's security control room and seal the building, so no-one can get in or out. The film Dredd was directed by Pete Travis and written and produced by Alex Garland. The film Dredd is based on the 2000 AD comic strip Judge Dredd created by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra .Produced by British studio DNA Films and partnered with sales agency IM Global to sell the worldwide distribution rights. It's owner Reliance Big Pictures agree to co-finance the 3-D project with a $45 million production budget. Dredd began principal photography, using 3D cameras throughout, in November 2010. Filming took place on practical sets and locations in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Production Development of the film was announced on 20 December 2008, although writer Alex Garland had begun working on the script in 2006. Duncan Jones had previously been offered the role of director. In a 2010 interview, Jones said that his vision for the film was unconventional—describing it as weird, dark, and funny—and it did not mesh well with Garland's script. In September 2010, it was reported that the film would be titled Dredd. Pre-production commenced on 23 August 2010 at Cape Town Film Studios in Cape Town, South Africa. During the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con International in July, Urban confirmed that he had been offered the role of Judge Dredd and on 18 August 2010 it was reported that Urban officially had the role. In September 2010, it was announced that Thirlby would play Dredd's telepathic rookie Cassandra Anderson. In the same month during the Toronto International Film Festival, the film attracted $30 million in worldwide pre-sales to distributors in 90% of theatrical markets. The sales included a $7 million deal with British distributor Entertainment Film Distributors. On 2 November 2010, Lions Gate Entertainment secured the North American distribution rights to Dredd. Headey joined the cast as drug-dealer Ma-Ma in January 2011. Judge Dredd creator John Wagner acted as a consultant on the film. In 2012 he confirmed that it was a new adaptation of the comic material and was not a remake of the 1995 adaptation Judge Dredd, which starred Sylvester Stallone. Post Production They allowed more space between the buildings to emphasize the larger buildings and allow for the presence of roads and cars. Outcrops and appendages were added to break up the buildings straight lines. Box Office Dredd earned $27.6 million from markets outside of America and $13.4 million from North America, for a total of $41 million. In the UK, Dredd made £1.05 million ($1.7 million) from having 415 cinemas during its opening weekend. This meant it was the weekend's number-one film, the first film restricted to audiences over 18 years of age. Very shortly the film placed number five, earning just over £769,000.Dredd was first of all mostly all shown in 3D in the UK, and 2D screenings were very limited as the distributor denied cinemas' requests for 2D prints. The decision to make the film only 3D was said to have limited the film's audience where 2D was their preferred format as 3D films are usually targeted to younger children/teenagers rather than over 18’s . Dredd earned a final total of $6.9 million in the UK. The reason why Dredd failed The reason why Dredd failed I think the main reason was that they mainly released in 3D. Especially because it was meant to be for an older audience, it is most common that younger children would rather see older films than over 18’s. This meant the audience had very little ability to be able to watch it in 2D. Another reason why Dredd failed

Lester Burnham

Lester seems not very content with his life. He has poor posture/slouching, lacks confidence. Dislikes his wife. He is not respected by his family as he sits in the back of the car. Roles between him and his wife are reversed, she acts more like the man and the hard worker than he does. Boring jo, boring life, boring sex life - jerks off in the shower. Pathetic, useless. Repetitive music, repetitively looks like hes trapped. Boring job, monotomous voice, Subdivide clours such as brown and dull. Repetitive red blue and white colours. no connection with his daughter.

Representation of famous people

Dough Bihlimaier, First impression of Dougfh was that he was a homeless man, who sold newspapers on the streets of New York. We cant tell this because his clothes look very dated, he has an outgrown beard and clothes are also ripped and patched up. We got the impression he spends his money saving on cigarettes. His shoes look odd and quite scuffed. In actual fact Doug works for Ralph Lauren and is standing on Madison Avenue New York City, where he is looking for advertisements of Ralph Lauren as that is his job. Anna di piagyi She looked like a crazy mad women/artist who had found her clothes in a dump site. She looks French due to her hat, and her whole clothing choice/colours look very abstract. She is actually wearing all designer clothes that are given to her for free as they want her to publish their clothes by wearing them. She is most well known for never wearing the same outfit twice. Calvin Klein Looked like an average worker, living in London, wearing a slightly unbuttoned shirt, scuffed shoes, and normal work trousers. He is actually the maker of one of the most well known brands in the world. This has proven that you should never judge a book by it's cover.

The Avengers The Avengers, is a 2012 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.1 It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast including Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, Stellan Skarsgård, and Samuel L. Jackson. Casting began in October 2008 with Downey's signing.Though Don Cheadle was also reported to be reprising his Iron Man 2 role of War Machine for The Avengers, he later stated that he did not think the character would appear in the film. At the same time, two major prospects occurred for Marvel: Jon Favreau was brought in as an executive producer for the film, and the company signed a long-term lease with Raleigh Studios to produce three other big-budget films—Iron Man 2, Thor (2011), and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)—at their Manhattan Beach, California complex. Lou Ferrigno, who voiced Hulk in The Incredible Hulk, stated that he would be involved in the film. In February 2009, Samuel L. Jackson signed a nine-picture deal with Marvel Entertainment to play Nick Fury in Iron Man 2 and other films. In September 2009, Edward Norton, who played Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk stated that he was open to returning in the film. The next month, executive producer Jon Favreau stated that he would not direct the film, but would "definitely have input and a say". Favreau also expressed concerns, stating, "It's going to be hard, because I was so involved in creating the world of Iron Man, and Iron Man is very much a tech-based hero, and then with Avengers you're going to be introducing some supernatural aspects because of Thor... [Mixing] the two of those works very well in the comic books, but it's going to take a lot of thoughtfulness to make that all work and not blow the reality that we've created".In March 2009, actress Scarlett Johansson replaced Emily Blunt in portraying Natasha Romanoff in Iron Man 2, a deal that subsequently attached her to The Avengers. The female superhero Wasp was included in an earlier draft of the script written before Johansson's involvement. The following day, Marvel announced that the film's release date had been pushed back to May 4, 2012, almost a full year later. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston joined the film's cast in June, returning as Thor and Loki, respectively.

My Representation
My representation of myself would be main stream/indie. I told seem to follow unusual or different trends, I seem to keep quite within the supposed normal aspect of a mainstream group.

The type of clothes I wear in my opinion show I am mainstream as I wear things such as converse, jeans and tops, nothing is ever out of the ordinary. My friends definitely have an impact of the types of clothes I wear, when I see something I think looks nice or I like on them I will most likely buy something similar. Although I try not to copy what other people wear it is difficult sometimes as the shops I shop at are very high street stores such as Top shop, Zara, Miss Selfridge and h&m. My wardrobe consists a lot of black white and greys but I do not feel as though this reflects a so called “Goth” background. I own a pair of doc martins which were in the category of “mod” and “skin heads” but I definitely do not class myself in either of those “tribes”.

The type of music I like can vary a lot depending what mood I am in, I like bands such as, Vampire weekend, Crystal Fighters, Gorrilaz, Kasabian, Artic Monkeys, Tame impala, The vaccines, Foster the People, The Courteeners and occasionally like listening to The Clash, The Stone Roses and Morrissey/The smiths ( this is mostly due to my friends music taste). Most of these are not mainstream music as I associate Main stream music as things like chart music/pop songs.  So therefore I think my music taste would be more indie than anything else.

The type of media I like is things such as Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.I spend a lot of my time on these websites either uploading things myself or looking at what others have uploaded. I think this would be classed as main stream/indie.

The type of celebrity I aspire to be like or like the way they dress/listen to or how they generally are is Angelina Jolie and Cara Delivinge. Angelina Jolie has a very classy and specific taste, she never seems to wear casual clothes where as Cara Delivinge does.
